Halloween Soap Holder Gifts

Hello Everyone!  Sorry for the long delay in posting but a lot has been going on.  Today I would like to show you the Halloween gifts I made for the girls in my choir and some of the ladies in church.

I used various Stampin Up cardstock plus some from my stash to make 15 of these.

They were a big hit and everyone just loved them.

Day of Gratitude Card Set

Golden Christmas Bells

Hello everyone! Today's project is a Vintage type Christmas card using my "negative punch piece" technique that I presented at Stampin Up Columbia Regional seminar.

This card is one example of using the remaining piece left after punching out a shape. The trick to this technique is using the negative piece right after punching your shape to reduce your waste and scraps.

 I embossed a piece of Brushed Gold cardstock with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder with my Big Shot.  Then I lightly sanded the piece and then dragged the Soft Suede classic ink pad across the cardstock.

The image from Bells & Boughs stamp set is stamped with Versamark and Gold Galaxy glitter applies with Heat & Stick powder.

The sentiment is computer generated punched out with the 1-3/4" x 7/8" Oval Large punch and mounted with the Scallop Oval punch.

2010 Columbia Regional Workshop Wow

Hello Everyone!  Today I would like to tell about  my Workshop WOW presentation that Stampin Up asked me to give at the Columbia Regional.

 All the Demonstrators attending the Columbia Regional were sent an email message asking for card submissions for the Workshop WOW.  We were to have been notified about two weeks prior to the event.  Well, it was one week past the time that Stampin Up was to notified the ones they picked so I figured that Stampin Up received better ideas and cards than mine.

About one week prior to the event, Stampin Up called me and asked if I would be interested in giving a Workshop WOW presentation.  I was so surprised that I asked the girl to repeat herself.  At first I didn't know what to say, then I said "Sure!".  She said that Shannon West would be contacting me for all the details.  I was in 7th Heaven.  I just couldn't believe it.  Of course, I got all nervous planning and practicing my presentation and since the presentation was for 5 minutes I had to changed everything at the last minute because I was taking too long.

Anyway, as nervous as I was, my presentation was just fine.  I think that I've kept you in suspense long enough.  What did I do for my Workshop WOW?  I presented some ideas and tips on using those "negative punch pieces" that everyone has.

I used a couple of my earlier cards since they fit the theme so well.

Plus I made some additional samples to illustrate additional ideas.  I also had some extra punched pieces to show how to utilized those on a scrapbook page or a card.  I did see some of the ladies shaking their heads in acknowledgment that this idea and tip was very helpful.

I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock that was stamped with an image from Delightful Decorations stamp set. 
I punched it out and showed the two pieces that were created.





The positive piece, which was the ornament stamped shape, and the negative piece that is left after you punch out a shape.





The 3 x 3 card on the left is an example of using the negative ornament shape from that punched piece.  What a great way to makes some gift cards for your Christmas presents or use them for tags.






Then I showed the "Elegant Christmas" and  "Quick and easy Deck the Halls Christmas Cards" cards that I posted earlier as an example of using the negative scalloped circle punch.  with the scalloped circle punch.

In the picture above, the card on the right I made using the same layout as the above two cards with the Pesto Papers, the Heart punch and the 2-3/8" Scallop Circle punch.

The card on the left showed how I used the 2-3/8" scallop circle from the card on the left and also the negative and positive pieces from the Embosslits Scalloped Heart of Hearts die on the same card.

The card on the left illustrates how I used the "negative punch piece" technique to recycle a stamping error. The center of the tombstone from Graveyard Gala didn't stamp very well and I couldn't use it for an invitation. So I punched out the bad part, added some ghosts and bat and made a card.

The reverse side of the positive piece or the basic gray scalloped circle I'll use as a mat with another punch piece.

 I then showed them a few negative punch pieces and a picture.

I first laid the Real Red negative punch piece over the picture and used it as a frame.

 
I then placed the other pieces and suggested that one could write a name in the Word Window punch space.

In the two little negative heart pieces, you could put a pearl in each or just leave them empty. All the pieces could be embossed or stamped or decorated in many ways.


These were just some of the ideas and tips that I came up with in my 5 minute space of time and hope that they also helped you to use your imagination and be more creative with your "negative punch pieces".  It eliminates waste and puts those scraps to better use than the trash can.

2010 Stampin Up Columbia Regional Seminar Swaps

Hello Everyone!  It's been awhile since I last posted.  Time has just flown by being busy preparing swaps for the 2010 Stampin Up Columbia Regional Seminar.  

I made 40 swaps for this event. Thirty of these were regular swaps.  I decided to split the choice in half, so I made 15 of one type and 15 of another.

Accessories: Scallop Corner & Border punch, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Big Shot, 2-way glue pen, Gold and Red galaxy glitter.

 

Five of these swaps were for the Remarkable Stampers Group to make five card fronts for a Swap-It Forward challenge.  A Swap-It Forward is exclusively for someone who isn't swapping. 

When you are asking "are you swapping" and hear them say no - hand them a card and just say this is for you have a great time at regional.

Cardstock: Real Red, Candy Cane Dsp, Whisper White

The last five cards were for the Sudsol members attending this event.  I finally got to meet some of the ladies that post to this wonderful group.

Ink: Garden Green & Real Red Classic

Cardstock: Real Red, Garden Green, Whisper White

Accessories: 2-1/2 Circle punch, 2-3/8 Scalloped Circle punch, Dimensional, 2-way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds.

 I received some wonderful swaps and ideas and will post those as soon as I can get pictures taken.  

 Also, I was chosen by Stampin Up as one of four Demonstrators to present a Workshop Wow.  Boy, was I ever NERVOUS!!!  I will try to post those workshop sample pictures and what I've presented at the workshop tomorrow.

Quick & Easy Deck the Halls Christmas Cards

Hello everyone!  Sorry I haven't posted in a while but I've been trying to come up with some easy Christmas cards and card kits.

Today I have some real easy cards to show you featuring the new Deck the Halls designer series paper available in the Holiday mini catalog. 

 

I wanted to keep these cards as simple and easy as possible so I let the designer paper do most of the work. 

All I did is add a greeting and some glitter and Voila, a real simple and easy card.

Supplies:

Stamps: Peaceful Season, Bells and Boughs, Tags til Christmas

Ink: Versamark, Cherry Cobbler, Early Expresso

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Brushed Gold, Alway Artichoke, scraps of mirror gold cardstock left over from a previous project.  (I got the mirror gold cardstock from Walmart but I think it's been discontinued)

Accessories:  2-way glue pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Red and Gold Galaxy glitter, Clear Embossing Powder, Scallop Trim Border punch, Ornament extra-large punch, Decorative Label punch, Very vanilla taffeta ribbon.
