First Christmas

Happy Monday to all my blogging friends.  I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend.  Today I would like to share a Christmas card made with Stampin' Up First Christmas stamp set.

This card is a 5 x 7 and I started by embossing the top layer using the Northern Flurry embossing folder then turned the cardstock around to emboss the opposite corner.  Then, I cut the center out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits.

On a separate piece of Whisper White cardstock, making sure that it would cover the opening made by the framelit,  I stamped the manger and star with Versamark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  I then took two post-it-notes and made a "V" for the rays coming down from the star by sponging with Daffodil Delight classic ink.  I glued this piece to the card base.

The embossed layer is raised up with dimensionals.  I stamped the greeting in Basic Black from Greeting of the Season from the Holiday Mini and cut it out with the Apothecary Accents Framelit die.  This was matted with a layer of real red cardstock and attached with dimensionals.

For the final touch, I used a two-way glue pen and lightly touched the star then sprinkled it with Dazzling Damonds and added a rhinestone in the center.  You can't see it in the photo but I misted the card front with a mixture of Champagne Mist and 70% alcohol to give it a little glimmer.

Wow, Diane, this is gorgeous! I haven't seen many cards made with this set, but this is how it should be presented. What an inspiration!

Gorgeous card Diane. Thanks for sharing the details too. When I saw your post on SC I was wondering how you got the Daffodil rays. Of course...Post-it's. Makes perfect sense. Thanks for sharing this my friend.

Hi Eileen, the base card is 5 x 7. The embossed layer is 4-3/4 x 6-3/4. I stamped the manger and star on a piece of whisper white just large enough to cover the opening and adhered it directly to the card base. The embossed layer (top) is raised up with dimensionals. Hope this helps.

Diane, this is just beautiful, perfectly portrayed! The sentiment is on white and cut out with the apothecary framelit - how is the red cut out, by hand? thanks so much for posting this wonderful card!

Hi Teresa,
Thank you for the wonderful comment. I'm so glad that you like this project. The red apothecary mat was cut with my Silhouette Cameo die cutting machine. If you have an electric die cutting machine like the Cameo and use Make the Cut or Sure Cuts a Lot software, I can send you the svg file. Thanks so much for visiting my blog. Please let me know if I can be of further help.
Crafty hugs, Diane
